Pakistanis in the Netherlands formed a population of 35,000 individuals as of 2004[update], according to the statistics of Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.[1] However, the figures of the Netherlands' Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek showed only 17,990 persons of Pakistani origin (persons born in Pakistan or with at least one parent born there) that year. Their most updated provisional figures for 2009 showed 18,638 persons of Pakistani origin, little increase from the 2004 number.[2] In 2010, there were 19,091 Pakistanis in the Netherlands.
